Lo Brutto Stahl is thrilled to announce Bordun, the second solo exhibition with the gallery by Berlin-based artist Philip Seibel.

The exhibition features Seibel’s most recent sculpture series, marking the first solo presentation to unfold throughout the entire Basel gallery space. It is accompanied by a text written by Marta Riniker-Radich.

Bordun opens on Thursday, October 2, and runs until Saturday, November 15, 2025, by appointment only, at Lo Brutto Stahl, Basel. 

Philip Seibel (b. 1980 in Hagen, Germany) is a sculptor with a background in instrument making and a deeply historical, research-based practice. He received his MFA from the Academy of Art in Düsseldorf under Peter Doig in 2011. 
Recent solo exhibitions include: Warmth, Lo Brutto Stahl, Paris, FR (2024); Gehäuse, Magenta Plains, NY, USA (2023); The Word for World is Forest, Union Pacific, London, UK (2022). His work has lately also been shown in group exhibitions such as: Soggiorno, Galerie Noah Klink (hosted by Tanya Leighton), Berlin, DE (2025); Darling, your head’s not right, François Ghebaly, NY, USA (2023); I heard myself close my eyes, then open them, (with Patricia L. Boyd and Grant Mooney), Braunsfelder, Cologne, DE (2022).
