Biography

RANDY WRAY (b. 1965. Lives and works in Brooklyn, NY)

Wray’s work has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions including at the Weatherspoon Art Museum, Greensboro, NC; Camargo Vilaça, São Paulo, BR; White Columns, New York, NY; and Greenville County Art Museum, Greenville, SC. Group exhibitions include MoMA PS1, New York, NY; Cranbrook Art Museum, Bloomfield Hills, MI; Socrates Sculpture Park, New York, NY; and Kohler Arts Center, Sheboygan, WI.

He is the recipient of awards including a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Gottlieb Grant, a NYFA Painting Fellowship, a Lillian Orlowsky and William Freed Grant and the Inaugural Irving Sandler Prize. Residencies include the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and the Marie Walsh Sharpe Space Program.

The artist’s works are represented in museum collections including the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL; Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus, OH; Greenville County Art Museum, Greenville, SC; Museum of Modern Art, Rio de Janeiro, BR; Rubin Museum of Art, New York, NY; Start Museum, Shanghai, CN; and the Weatherspoon Art Museum, Greensboro, NC. Corporate collections include Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase Bank, Neuberger Berman and Progressive.
